What the house is known for
A terrace built for all four seasons
In Pau, a terrace is of little use if it only works three months a year. That is why ours changes configuration with the season: covered and sheltered in winterit stays comfortable when the wind comes down from the Pyrenees; fitted with misters in summerit stays breathable even on the heaviest afternoons.
The result is one address that works in January as well as in August, and a seat outside whatever the month.

The red bar on rue Maréchal Foch
Many locals know us before they know our name: it is « the red bar », or « the bar next to Zara ». The front and the awnings are red and impossible to miss as you walk up rue Maréchal Foch from place Clemenceau.
You are in the middle of the shopping district of Pau, a few minutes on foot from Les Halles, the boulevard des Pyrénées and the funicular. The Clemenceau and Bosquet car parks are the most practical if you come by car.

Sport is better watched together
Rugby, football, the big evenings of the season: the screens are on and the room fills up. If you are visiting Pau and want to watch a match somewhere that is not a hotel bar, this is the place. Call us to check what is on and to keep a table.

Le Cristal is a French brasserie, so service follows French habits: lunch is served from around noon, the kitchen is not open all day, and the terrace is where most people want to sit. If you are a group of six or more, a phone call the day before is always the safest move.
