The day at Le Cristal
From the 7am coffee to the evening match
Le Cristal is a bar and a brasserie in the French sense: the same room serves an espresso at the counter, a full lunch at a table, and a drink in front of a screen. The kitchen follows French service hours, it is not open continuously.
Brasserie lunch
Classic French brasserie cooking: a dish of the day, starters, mains and desserts à la carte, served in the room or on the terrace. Lunch service starts around midday, come before 1pm if you are in a hurry.
Afternoon tea
Between lunch and the evening, the room stays open for hot and cold drinks and something sweet. A useful stop between two shops, or after school.
Sunday brunch
Served on Sundays only, from 9am. Composition changes and is given on site or over the phone. It fills up, booking is strongly advised.
BookThe bar
Draught beer, wine, soft drinks and coffee, served at your table, in the room or on the terrace, right through the day.
Live sport
Rugby, football and the big evenings of the season are shown on screen. We stay open later on those nights, call to check the programme and keep a table.
Honest note
What we do not put online
You will not find a fixed menu or a price list on this site. A brasserie menu moves with the market and the season, and a page left out of date is worse than no page at all, it sets an expectation the bill contradicts. The current menu and prices are displayed at the entrance, as French law requires, and we will happily read them to you over the phone before you come.
